The village center of Geijsteren breathes the atmosphere of the past. It was part of the barony de Weichs de Wenne. The heraldic colors of black and white of this noble family can be found in the shutters and doors of the farms of the Landgoed Geijsteren.

The ENCI quarry is a wonderful example of how an industrial area has been returned to nature. Since 1926, lime has been excavated in the ENCI quarry to make cement in the nearby factories. Now you can enjoy the view over the Meuse valley, the quarry and the surrounding forests from a spectacular vantage point. You descend into the quarry via 215 steps, going back in time along the various chalk layers.

On the Vaalserberg omen the borders of Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands together, the Drielandenpunt. The oldest basilica in our country, St. Amelberg Basilica, with its art treasures, is absolutely worth a visit.
